Creating Community Resilience

What is Creating Community Resilience (CCR)?

Creating Community Resilience (CCR) is a collaborative initiative providing regional leadership in preventing and mitigating Adverse Childhood Experiences and Adverse Community Environments (ACEs) and building trauma-informed (TI) capacities to create resilient communities throughout Douglas County.

Our Purpose

We believe that our extended community will benefit as we collaborate across sectors and populations to recognize the effect of trauma, and work together to transform our organizations and our community.

For all Douglas County residents, organizations, and institutions to be empowered trauma-informed champions promoting safe children, strong families, healthy neighborhoods, and resilient communities.

Our Vision

  • Peace at Home Advocacy Center

    Peace at Home Advocacy Center is a community-based non-profit agency serving Douglas County since 1978. They are dedicated to a community free from family violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking and/or human trafficking through empowerment, support and education.

  • Family Faith & Relationship Advocates (FARA)

    FARA is a 501c3 non-profit mental health agency whose core mission is, “Creating safe environments for Children to thrive”. They ensure this by creating trauma-informed services and programs to help families and children in crisis or difficult moments.

  • Douglas C.A.R.E.S.

    Douglas C.A.R.E.S. strives to eradicate child abuse and neglect in Douglas County through effective, compassionate response and prevention, thereby protecting children and uplifting families.

  • Douglas Education Service District

    Education service districts (ESDs) in Oregon, including Douglas ESD, were established to provide support services to school districts within their geographical areas, aiming to enhance educational outcomes and offer specialized services that individual districts might struggle to afford on their own.

  • Douglas County Partners for Student Success

    DCPSS works to ensure each child in Douglas County will receive effective and meaningful support to achieve economic and social success by graduating from high school, completing post–secondary education and/or entering a career. 

  • Family Development Center

    The Family Development Center is a private, non-profit agency offering support and education services to families experiencing high stress. Family Development Center prevents the cycle of child abuse and neglect through early prevention and intervention services that focus on building successful and resilient children, strengthening parents and preserving families.

  • Aviva Health

    Aviva Health is an independent, not-for-profit organization that cares for the people of Douglas County by providing quality, compassionate, accessible and affordable healthcare.
