The Douglas County Parent Advisory Network a collaboration of local systems and agencies to create a network of parents of lived experience to provide insights and feedback on their experience with various systems and services in our community to create impact and systems change. Creating Community Resilience supports various community-based parent advisory councils and provides support and leadership for the initiative and works closely with parents and partners to bridge the gap between families and services.

CCR believes that centering systems change work on people with lived experience is essential to quality service delivery, stakeholder engagement, and community success. We support trauma-sensitive best practices to approach parent advisory work to recognize the impact of trauma and empower survivors to make change within their communities. CCR is committed to providing the core principles of trauma-informed care—safety, trustworthiness and transparency, peer support, collaboration, choice, and cultural, historical, and gender awareness—to parent advisors.
